My integrity as a chainsaw carver has been questioned, in Quora of all places. Needed to update this site in a major way and lost ALL the pictures when I installed a new theme. Sigh. Put a gallery here, quickly, and I’ll be back over the weekend to make repairs.
I picked up a chainsaw on Saturday to help my friend Kelly clear a field of trees downed by the April 16, 2011 tornado that came through NC. (Five of us were running chainsaws in her field that day.) I want to carve. I have a few logs lined up. John lost a tree and we got a lot of the wood. Kelly has furniture wood, and perhaps a 40′ bench / picnic table, if I can rip a sweetgum log in one piece. (Ideas are easy…. execution is where the trouble happens.)
I want to carve. I want to make stuff, physical, 3D stuff, not just flat textile art, however colorful.
I couldn’t stand it any longer yesterday, and when my SEO meeting was cancelled, went out and made a room divider from some branches we’d pruned over the weekend. Making furniture is rarely spontaneous, and I don’t know how to hold the panels together yet. That said, I did make the panels, and they are stable individually, and making stuff >> thinking about SEO.
Stay tuned. I’ll bring the portfolio pages onto this website soon.
