It’s back.
I picked up a chainsaw on Saturday to help my friend Kelly clear a field of trees downed by the April 16, 2011 tornado that came through NC. (Five of us were running chainsaws in her field that day.) I want to carve. I have a few logs lined up. John lost a tree and we got a lot of the wood. Kelly has furniture wood, and perhaps a 40′ bench / picnic table, if I can rip a sweetgum log in one piece. (Ideas are easy…. execution is where the trouble happens.)
I want to carve. I want to make stuff, physical, 3D stuff, not just flat textile art, however colorful.
I couldn’t stand it any longer yesterday, and when my SEO meeting was cancelled, went out and made a room divider from some branches we’d pruned over the weekend. Making furniture is rarely spontaneous, and I don’t know how to hold the panels together yet. That said, I did make the panels, and they are stable individually, and making stuff >> thinking about SEO.
Stay tuned. I’ll bring the portfolio pages onto this website soon.
In the meantime, you can now get the book Carve Smart directly from me. Read an excerpt about How to Buy a Chainsaw Carving Saw here.
